Bam'idizowigamig Creator's Place:  Jean Kruft

Bam’idizowigamig means “a Place to support oneself” in the Ojibwe language. Our products are gathered and made by Ojibwe Americans living near Pine Point Village, which is located 20 miles West of Park Rapids. Our products include; locally harvested Lake and River Wild Rice, Handmade beadwork, Birch Bark Crafts, handmade dream catchers, toy wooden farm buildings and Carved Diamond Willow.

Bam’idizowigamig Creator’s Place is a local non-profit. Our purpose is to provide meaningful work and income to people in one of the most impoverished areas in Minnesota: Pine Point Village, which is in the remote South-East corner of the Ojibwe White Earth Tribal Reservation.

Baskets by Linda & Jerrie:  Linda Hansen & Jerrie Pritzlaff

Specializing in hand-woven baskets.  Materials may be naturals from the area such as birch, cattail, antler, or may be rattan from Indonesia.  The artists prepare natural materials and dye reed to create colorful patterns for baskets that become art for the home and garden.  Baskets are part of every culture and these artists are working to keep the art alive by recreating patterns from different generations of weavers and designing new patterns.  Each basket becomes one of a kind as the hands shape the basket.
